Decisions & Appeals

The Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) is responsible for ensuring Alberta consumers who use the services of a real estate licensee, mortgage licensee, property manager, or condominium manager are adequately protected. Under the Real Estate Act, RECA has the authority to hold formal hearings to inquire into possible licensees breaches of the Act and discipline misconduct when appropriate. For more information about the different types of disciplinary decisions, go to Types of Decisions.

RECA withholds the publication of decisions until the 30-day right of appeal period expires, except where a matter is egregious and would support earlier publication in the interest of consumer protection.

Any disciplinary or enforcement action dated January 24, 2018 or later will remain on RECA’s website indefinitely. Decisions dated prior to this date can be accessed through a “Request for Disciplinary History” form.
