Alberta’s real estate industry has four Industries:

• Real estate licensees assist consumers who are buying or selling property. They are often referred to as real estate agents
• Mortgage brokerage licensees connect lenders and borrowers.
• Property management licensees provide property management services.
• Condominium managers will be regulated by RECA as a subset of property management as of December 1, 2020, but will not require licensing until December 1, 2021.  .

Each industry requires unique education and a separate licence. In the case of property management, you require a real estate licence and specialized education for property management.

You can have a licence in every industry.
